‘Women, Martyrdom, & Religious Drama in the Abrahamic Traditions’ (WOMARD)

WOMARD is an ambitious new project that studies the dramatic traditions of Judaism, Christianity and Shi’i Islam from a comparative perspective. Based at the University of Fribourg’s Department of English and led by Professor Elisabeth Dutton, this 4-year project will include a wide range of activities, from the editing and translation of Persian and Yiddish playscripts, to the staging of performances. Please join us for talks, short films, and lively discussion at one or both of the day’s sessions.
