Dear members of SITM,
Please find attached the call for papers and productions of our 16th triennial colloquium in Genova, which will take place 8-13 July 2019, in all three official languages of the colloquium: English, French and Italian. The deadline for your suggestions either for papers or for proposals is December 31st, 2017. You will also find them online: http://www.sitm.info/genoa-2019.
The IMC Leeds this year was a success for us in so far as all drama papers were very high quality papers – and most of them presented by our members: Congratulations to all who were present. Still, we were not as visible as last year, with papers mingled into non-drama sessions, and with quite a few frequent conference goers missing for various reasons. Next year, however, will be an important year for us at Leeds. The central topic of the IMC Leeds, 2-5 July 2018 is “Memory”, meant also to commemorate the 25th jubilee of the congress. The congress administration told me that papers and sessions about the history of the Leeds drama department and its activities, including the re-staging of the York Corpus Christi Cycle would be especially welcome. Please consider whether you would like to organize a round table, a session – or give a paper, or even offer a theatre performance. I attach a call for papers for sessions that I would like to organize myself. But you certainly should feel free to do it on your own if you prefer, see: https://www.leeds.ac.uk/ims/imc/imc2018_call.html.
The next two volumes of EMD, edited by Jelle, are about to come out this year. As for the volume 2016, some misunderstanding between us and the publisher concerning missing data has delayed the process for months. I hope I could now clear everything with Guy. I have agreed to edit the next two volumes (2018 and 2019), consisting of papers from the IMC Leeds (to be collected now, while Jelle is still finishing volume 2017) and the SITM regional conference of the German speaking countries next spring respectively. Thus, we are in good hope that we will be back on track by mid next year.
Wishing you all the best,
Cora Dietl
